I’ll reply in one and add a couple pictures. Bob we have about 25 acres growing over here where I live and another 45 in Richmond at my parents.
Sweet Feet, thanks for the comments. I’m glad you like the pictures. I was looking back over the last couple years pictures that I posted, my kids are growing up pretty fast. It’s nice having them help out a bit. My daughter is 15 next weed so is really good at the markets.
Jeff, yes there are lots of cranberries in NJ, Pine Barrons area. A lot of research and development into the new varieties has come from Rutgers. The bounce test you mentioned is the basis of this cleaning machine we use. It’s called a Bounce Board Separator. Basically the hopper is filled at the top and as the berries drop down they bounce over a series of shelves and baffles. The higher the berry bounces the better it is.
I’ll try to post a video to YouTube next week with it cleaning the fruit.
