You might consider restoring the decal. You might make a stencil and replace the missing data with paint. If you have a good picture of a complete decal it would help. You could enlarge the picture to life size and print it on computer paper. Then use an exacto knife to cut out the letters. From there spray the back side of the stencil with a light coat of spray adhesive and it will stick on the surface you want like contact paper. Then use a paint made for plastic and apply multiple light coats of paint. A wet coat the paint will run under the stencil where a light coat almost like overspray will work fine.
