Thank you Paul,thats exactly what I was trying to say. Big Jim,what I meant to say about insulating the end of that wire is that if you remove the always hot battery wire from the bat stud on the alternator rear and reconnect the battery to see if the battery drain is gone. You must be very carefull to prevent the alternator end of the wire from shorting to any part of the tractor.This wire has several hundred amps avalible to it from the battery and if shorted will destroy your wiring in seconds and may even cause an electrical fire.
