Many hunting laws make no sense except to the person who wrote the law. Who knows if they even hunt. That said, in some states, it is legal to use bait feeders and salt blocks etc. In some states you can only use shotguns for deer. In some you can shotgun in parts of the state, yet others part of the state high power rifle may be used. In South Dakota you can hunt pheasants on almost all S.D. roads but you can not hunt deer from any road. In some states you have to post signs that say "No Hunting", in some you just need to paint the gate posts and in S.D. it is automatically No Hunting unless you have the land owners permission. There are more laws that are strange but that’s enough from meg for now
