Very cool ...... someone painted it a lighter green, almost a JD green, the factory green was somewhat darker, and someone painted over the chrome "Job Rated" centerpiece in the middle of the grille. Factory wheel color was usually cream/ivory. I had a '51 which was very similar but the rear fenders were less styled, more of a basic fender shape from those times. The black pickup box was original on the basic factory paint jobs, I believe you paid extra to have the whole truck the same color as the front cab. I had a Dodge pickup truck restoration book back in the day and I remember reading that. Also, on all the pickup trucks you see restored with a beautifully varnished oak bed, that was never the case from the factory. The wood might have been oak (or some other hardwood) but the wood was painted black along with the metal bed strips. That series of Dodge trucks was referred to as the "Pilot House" cabs, for some reason they never were favored by collectors like the Chevys and Fords from that era, I always liked the Dodges myself.

"Barry Seiler, owner of Country Town Farm Supply store used to invite people up to the Johne Deere store. He would give hats and a free meal for everyone that brings a tractor."
