Here in Georgia we do not have tags any longer. All harvest records can be done on line at the time of kill. If you don't have a smart phone you can print out a harvest record (to be mailed to the DNR at the end of the season. We can harvest 10 antlerless deer and 2 antlered deer. One of the two antlered deer must have a minimum of 4 points, 1 inch or longer, on one side of the antlers. Some Counties have more strict rules on antlered deer.
As far as not field dressed, i would not expect an 88 year old to gut the deer in the field. Just play like it took a couple of hours to track it down, you would still eat it right?
