My last (have had several different ones over the years) Audiologist tested me and found my hearing was -90 dB @ 2k-4k.....(by chance the range of the normal FEMALE voice 😎). Her aids cost me around $5k and had all the bells and whistles. I have a drawer full of the things and never use them, those included.
Funny about audio testing is that they test you before the aids, but you don't get sent back into the "chamber" with your new whiz bang gadgets that love to pick up wind and background noise, but not normal conversations which is why you want them in the first place......regardless of all the advertising claims. Waste of money for me besides the nuisance of keeping up with them, batteries, hygiene, ear tickling, wind noise, keeping them dry, etc., etc. 😡
