Is it hard to get out of gear?
If while holding the clutch down, go into gear, then go to neutral, still holding the clutch down, then back into gear, does it grind?
If yes, the clutch is not fully releasing, the pilot bearing is dragging or seized, or there is a problem with the clutch itself.
If no, the clutch is releasing as it should.

Could be a simple as running synthetic fluid that is thinner and allows the input shaft to freewheel easier.. where it grinds the first time but not the second time when done guickly.[/quote]
That is the situation. When I go into say 1st, it grinds until gears slow down enough for it to pop in. I release the clutch and move forward. If I throw in the clutch and go into another gear quickly, it will go in without grinding. However, if I pause before going into that next gear, it will grind.
