If you don't have any sort of building inspection where you live, you can build just about anything you want using just about any materials you choose. That doesn't mean it's a good idea, but you're free to do it at your own risk. Of course if your structure collapses and maims or kills somebody else, you'll find that the courts tend to rule very unfavorably towards builders who endanger others.
On the other hand, if your county does require building permits and inspections, your plan to use those beams will probably be shot down. Unless, of course, you want to have a licensed Professional Engineer sign off on your plans, which will probably cost a lot more than you'll save in materials.
