My Grandfather bought a Husqvarna, and that’s the worst mower I’ve ever seen. The brakes had to be adjusted every couple months or they wouldn’t hold. The engine was always having problems, till it finally quit at 400 hours. So my Grandfather went and bought a John Deere D120. It’s hydrostatic drive, no power steering, but it steers easier than a car. That mower was only in the shop for oil change till it hit 425 hours, when the engine gave out ( which I was disappointed about), but even with that it was still better than the Husqvarna. So we put a new engine in the JD, and it’s still going today. Now my Grandparents mow about 4 acres, and that JD wasn’t designed for that. So it’s partly there falt for buying a mower that’s too small. My grandma on the other side of the family bought a JD D100. She only has 3/4 acres to mow. So in 9 years the mower only has 190 hours on it and still works great. That mower is a gear transmission, and I don’t like it as much for mowing, but I pulled some pretty heavy loads with it, and I still works. I hope this helped you.

The soil is a rich dark brown and is well looked after. unlike some areas in the midlands it is also fairly flat, broken only by hedgerows and the occasional valley and brook. A copse of wildbreaking silver birch and oak trees surround the top si
