In the farm media, that particular story is the hot/in thing to write about. There are several versions of the story making the rounds right now.
What the media fails to point out is the current state of the farming economy, which is pretty poor. When the farm economy goes down, the prices of older usable equipment go up, because the farmers simply cannot pencil out the cost of the new equipment, nothing more. Even Machinery Pete says this.
You are not going to tell me that if corn were $8 right now, that these same guys wouldn't be driving a brand new Deere 7000R or 8000R series tractor, in spite of the "computer junk" and "repair issues."
That they're buying up these old tractors simply in protest of the "computer junk" and "repair issues" is horse dookey.
