Got just over 3000 miles on the repair and no leaks put it under a few heavy loads and no leaks. Just for fun I thought I would see how much for the actual lock n stitch kit and block reinforcement they sell just over 1400.00$ makes my 300$ repair look pretty good. The block was junk and I figured didn’t have to much to lose by trying to repair it. Welded one crack and I don’t think the guy drilled the ends of the crack before welding actually talked to a few different guys about welding the crack and they all gave a blank look when I asked about drilling the ends of the crack and both make a living welding anyway I didn’t pay anything for the welding and that crack never completely sealed until I put some loctite epoxy over it . So that’s the story of a cracked 53 Cummins block and a way to fix one
