You got that M all dressed up and never take it to town! Still has the factory installed rear tires on it! Dad's '51 M as we called it was actually considered a '52 because it's finish build day was December 7, '51. IH's fiscal calender ran from November 1st to October 31st. Anyhow, it had those same GENERAL tires with the checkmark shaped lugs. He ran them till about '57-'58, and replaced them with a Gillette brand tire, the Generals ended up on our M&W direct axle duals that we used first on our Super M-TA from '60 to '64, 450 Farmall '65 to '68, 4010-D from '69-'72. We might possibly still have one left in a junk trailer down by the creek. I've seen pictures in my IH books of Super M's with those tires on them. Only ever seen one other tractor with them, think it was a picture of an Oliver 77.

"Barry Seiler, owner of Country Town Farm Supply store used to invite people up to the Johne Deere store. He would give hats and a free meal for everyone that brings a tractor."
