Kevin, are all the guards made by the same company? Even if they have the same number the guards will not nessarly be made the same if by different companys. Or they could be defective. And as far as bending them NO WAY. Some say that can be done but in my many a year and with many a different maschine I have not ever found a guard that could be bent. The ones that are not fitting correctly take them off and try other guards. Do this untill you find correct fit. But I would have liked to see somebody do that bending to get them to fit as none I have ever seen could have that done. Yes if you hit something they might bend or just break but to bend for adjustment never. Same for all mowers I have worked on that would now be 135 years old to the haybine. Even when owners manual said do the bending you could not do it.
