There are three possibilities (assuming the lever moves all the way in the slot). One is that the coupling slider is not moving with the lever. The secomd is that the drive gear in the front of the transmission (TA housing area) is bad, not driving the shaft. The third is the splines at the coupling might be stripped. First and 3rd are easiest, remove that little cover where the lever is located, and look at the coupling. If not engaged, push it engaged and hold it there with two hose clamps on the shaft,Tight. The bad gear is a split. The shaft going into the coupling should be turning any time the engine is running. If not, the gear is suspect. Jim
