Putting LT tires on a trailer solves the problem for most people because the number one reason for trailer tire blowouts is to much speed and LT tires are rated for highway speeds.
ST tires still have a stronger sidewall than LT tires so if weight is your problem LT tires will not help.
People think just measuring the GVWR and loading the trailer to max is good. Trouble with loading max weight is you need to worry about what each tire is hauling. For 7000 lb trailers not a problem. Go ahead and put LT tires on it and forget it.
But when you get into 10,000 14,000 lb range you better make sure you have 12 ply ST tires You better make sure you keep your speed down And you better make sure the weight is distributed evenly over all 4 tires.
