You've got a hornet there. We find a couple nests in the orchard every year despite spraying insecticides constantly for insects. They're a feisty bunch of insects that won't let go and with normal frequent spraying for peach and apple pests it will still not eliminate them. Shows how some insects can survive our regular sprays schedule which is regulated by the label and the state & federal government and will not kill ALL insects. I can tell you,- hornets are persistent once they build their nests.
