When I was probably 12-13 years old, I remember being at a 4th July gathering at my parents house. One of the few times I remember ever seeing a group of people there, usually we were a very private family.
But being July 4th, I had a sack of fireworks, carrying them around annoying everyone popping them.
But I didn't have a punk to light them, so dad gave me a couple of cigarettes...
Being hip, slick, and cool, I made sure everyone saw me smoking like a real man!
Then that evening the steaks and taters and all my favorite foods came off the grill, a real feast!
Until, I discovered every bite I took, all I could taste was those nasty cigarettes...
Never touched another one to this day!
If only the disgusting taste of beer had worked so well...
