Rick, I bought a new PJ in 2007 from a large dealer near Indianapolis and they gave me a can of cleaner and said be sure and use it as most problems are from contact loss. My truck has integrated brake controller and have 3 times when truck showed trailer not connected, and once on road from tractor show, stopped and give both truck and trailer plug a shot and all was well. I pulled a different trailer one day and had to do same for it. My trailer sets behind barn next to woods lots of spiders, bugs of all kinds and junk off of trees. I keep a can in shop and the truck.
