Those turn inside of each other are the ones that are junk. A Stemco seal will say Stemco on the box and has a separate wear sleeve that comes with the seal. It drives on the axle seal journal and the seal goes in the hub after the bearing. Grit guardian is one of their seal models and top of the line. Heavy wear sleeve and lasts. They need a special driver to put them on. It can be made out of a piece of pipe and a couple plates. One needs a hole close to the size of the axle and the other is just a cap to pound on. 1/4 inch is thick enough. The pipe long enough to extend past the front of the axle end. The no preload on wheel bearings is sort of true. I tighten them up tight turn them then back off to turn sort of freely. IF you can wiggle them at all they are to loose. After replacement check oil level in axle and jack up other side to get oil to run into the hub just worked on. I put some oil or grease lightly on the seal and on bearings so they are not dry. If they have a threaded plug hole in the side of the hub I put some oil in there when done to oil bearings and seal. The price of the seals is about the same for all of them so why not get the longest lasting one for the money. All are only about a buck or two difference in price. Will be around $30.00 That's my thoughts on seals and experience.
