These Charolais look nice, but some of my buddies who breed them pure here in Scotland (for selling breeding bulls) say they are a pain in the butt to get in calf ( a calf every two years is good going) and the calves when they are born are so 'dozy' it can be a struggle to get them up and sucking. Lots of Charolais used as terminal sires here in the UK, producing large framed, fleshy beasts for the butcher, but quantity more than quality eating! Their big frames can also cause calving problems when used on smaller cows.
