Wow...That is a conundrum. If you paid the sales tax in Ohio, not sure if NY should collect it too, not that they wouldn't try. If you have no proof of paying OH, then NY will be trying hard to get $$. If you have proof of paying a sales tax, then submit that and see if they take it. DMV is just the collector for the tax dept., same a clerk at the quik-sac.
