I'd save the effort of welding up special wider rims to fit the IH frt wheel castings and just put Char-Lynn power steering on. Hard steering problem solved. Dad's '51 M has been a loader tractor since it was brand new Christmas Eve Day 1951. It was also the picker tractor from fall '52 till about 1967 or '68. The power steering was added around the mid-1950's.
Both the M and my '54 Super H have loaders on them and have always had 6.00x16 ft tires. I've considered welding up frt rims like you were describing but 6x15 rims for 7.5Lx15. Haven't seen the need to take that project past the "Thinkin' about it" stage.
You put power steering on your Super M you will thank yourself every time you use it.

A copse of wildbreaking silver birch and oak trees surround the top si
