Boy, that is a great looking little Jeep P.U. The color is very "seasonal".
Back in the early 60s, my brother replaced a valve seat on a neighbor's CJ-5. I think it had the little F-Head four. Anyway, right after he finished the job, we got a major snowstorm so my brother decided to test drive it. It had a plow on it and we plowed the church parking lot and a few driveways around the area.
He drove and I controlled the Hi-Lo shifter. He would go forward in Lo and as soon as he pushed the clutch to put it in reverse, I would shift into Hi so he could back up faster and then I would shift back into Lo when he pushed in the clutch to shift back into first.
Worked real well and sped up the plowing a great deal. Thanks for jogging that fond memory out of the back of my mind.
A brother of a local farmer had one of those little Jeep pickups and he used to haul Baled hay wagons with it. It also had the 4 cyl. engine and was a little underpowered for hauling a big hay wagon. He had to haul a couple of miles on a blacktop road so he would unlock the front hubs and put the transfer case in low in order to pull the steep hills. Saved a lot of wear and tear on the clutch too. LOL
