well yes,... u got to warm it up and work it . you have no problem yet. any of these gas starts in good shape dont smoke on changeover. another thing is the colder the weather the more u run them on gas to get the engine warm so it switches over smoothly. in cold weather they can run for 2- 3 minutes or more. standard run time is about 1 minute. make sure you idle them if the engine is hot for a good 15 minutes before shutting down on diesel. everyone argues over shut down on diesel or gas. its a diesel engine, diesel cools faster at idle and shut down on diesel. why switch back to gas to heat up the small gas valves. also shutting down on diesel the small valves are closed and dissipate the heat. you never leave them open. yes add conditioner and even 2 cycle engine oil to the diesel. these are very good engines if looked after and will last a long time. post back after you have used it.
