I've been to pulls and shows but never got into it. Met a lot of nice people. Fun to see the ingenuity that people use to build the higher division tractors.
Certainly better than melting it down for harbor freight tools.
I think there's still plenty of examples of stock tractors to balance the modifieds. It's not like taking a Yenko Chevelle and making a dirt car out of it.
I think the abuse comment on the IH board was more from the standpoint of taking the machine well beyond what the engineers had in mind in terms of power handling and ultimate strength. But that's competitive sports; you push and take risks in order to stay in front of the competition.
