I too am at that crossroad.I am 64 years old,most times feel 84. I dont have livestalk,only a small 'penny operation' crop farm.Land is getting harder to lease. My wife's declineing health(mabe mine too?),economics are makeing me think about quitting.'Retireing'? Only I dont want to. Our county is still 'farmer friendly',but for how long with all the (city) folks moveing into the area?True,I dont have a huge financial investment/burden looming.Of that I am glad.My son doesnt want the farm,let alone try to farm it.But,yes I am at that crossroad. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery.
