I have ran newer ones too, bobcat, ASV, Cat, my buddies cat 216B I love, very smooth and easy, hell I'm sure I could pop a bottle cap with it I can be so precise, and very quick too. But this old Gehl yea its a death trap so far haha. The control stick doesn't seem to have very much slop indicating loose joints, but I'll check, I checked the hydr oil once before firing it but I'll check it again. This almost seems more like something wrong with the hydraulics though?
Almost like metering valve or something? Like I said when your first moving it in a direction the control stick barks and try to buck back, worse when turning then fwd or back. I mean you can control speed (slow through to full speed) its just not smooth, its as if I took my hydro grass cutter at full fwd and jammed it 3/4 reverse, when changing directions, when I change directions on this machine, kind of hard to explain I wish I could post a few vids.
