grumpydaniel had a question about adding hydraulics to a tractor that didn't come with same. I have 2 tractors that had that done before I bought them. First is a 1937 Allis Chalmers WC. The system uses a car power steering pump and 2 way valve to pick up the snow plow blade that I took off. Tractor lifted the blade acceptably.
The second is a 1941 Farmall A that was intended to be used with a rear snowplow. PO said it didn't work very well. possibly due to larger diameter hydraulic cylinder needing too much oil flow? Also, when you step on the clutch, belt pulley/ hydraulics stop.
