kcm.mn used this picture in his daily picture posts and a number of people asked what it was. I said for cutting irrigation trenches between grape vine but I was a bit unsure so contacted my friend in the area.
I was slightly wrong as it was used to cut irrigation trenches in the orange plantations near Mildura in Victoria, Australia. Due to restrictions on irrigation and years of drought, the orange plantations have nearly all died off and are being grubbed up so items like this are going for scrap.
Tractor on the front is a Fordson Major and I took the picture in October 2017.
