I never cease to be amazed at how abused some of this old iron can be by years of exposure to the elements and poor service by previous users, and still can be made to work again with simple hand tools, readily replaceable parts and proper lubrication, and can still going decades beyond their "expected service life".
Same can't be said for anything with a mile of wire and computers.
