Back in the late 60's my company sent me to Molokai Hawaii Island. The power unit for the whole island was just such a generator, 16 cylinders and all. When I was in high school working on the tugs in the summer the second summer the Tug Lone Star, a 105' fairly modern tug at the time was running that engine but had a prop shaft tied to it not a generator. Locomotives used that engine for numerous engines back in the day in GM railroad engines....on railroad engines, they are getting 4400 HP out of those engines today.......in both EMD and GE engines.

Today's Featured Article - Oliver 550 Purchaser Checklist - by Greg Sheppard. Pound for pound the 550 is better than anything I've seen.
