I wish Dieseltech was around, but he is on a long tractor ride. Which pump do you have? If it is the one I think it is you might be in deep stuff. That pump needs to be locked before removing the gear. Engine needed to be timed, pump locked and the shaft pressed out of the gear. If you didn't lock it before removal,you will have to send it to a rebuilder and get it retimed, locked and then you will have to figure how to get the engine in time before installation. Been there done that, Lessons learned the hard way you never forget.
