Keith, we run a a 8420,530, a new Idea 4643. All three use the same wheels, but have seen older 5530 Hesstons with the long straight arms that hold the wheels. In my opinion, which only is an opinion we have stopped lowering the wheels and havent used them in 5 years, maybe more. The trick is in the rake job. We use Kuhn rotary rakes that make a very narrow but fluffy windrow. We leave very little hay behind. Most times none. Might be cheaper n easier to swap out rakes than hunt up crowd wheels. Al
