If intermediate does not work, it's either a control valve problem OR intermediate clutch problem as it's SPRING applied and OIL PRESSURE released. Usually the LOW clutch has damage when the piston seals fail, as bad seals will cause BOTH the low and intermediate clutches to be applied at the same time which must NOT happen. I've never tried it but the MF 24 speed models should be able to pull/roll start in highest gear, since intermediate clutch is SPRING applied, and would be applied whenever engine is off.
