You can move the plunger over as far as you can with the adjustments. You may still need to shim the shear plate over more. You access that from the rear right side just belo w the knotters. I think it's 2 or 3 bolts. I had to shim mine over almost 1/4". Makes things a lot easier on the baler. And yes, both the knife and shear plate need to be "sharp". The knife you can do with an angle grinder if you can wedge yourself in where you can reach it. The shear plate, same thing, just go for a right angle, square edge.
