The single front is not un-heard of. But I have seen very few in my day. I'm guessing the work and worn parts he is referring to, thats needed to fix the steering, has to do with the upper portion of the steering. The worm gear shaft primarely. This is a common wear problem on the H. If you can find a stock new one, it'll probly be to expensive to buy. But if this one is worn REALLY bad, your best bet is to just find a used one that is not as worn as bad as this one. And that could be found fairly easily in a salvage yard. It won't be like new, but way more cheaper. Thats my 2 cents.
