When they done our drive they used 57s which was 3/4 inch rock down but no dust. It didnt last long and was sucked up by the earth. It took 100 ton to do the drive which was a waste.
Had the drive redone. Put in 2 inch rock as a base, Walked it down with a dozer, drove on it a month and then put the 57s on top of that. That fixed it like it should have been initially.
Had dense grade (lots of fine stone and dust) installed once and it was awful. The first rain it washed ditches in the dense grade as the fines and dust washed away. Could never keep it on the drive. I dont recommend it at all.
