Interesting topic (ie. crime) for sure, and some of the replies referring to rising crime rates are even more interesting. The link below is a loooooong read but the first part gives you a general idea of what is happening in the USA overall ..... USA since most YT'er are from down south of here, I'm sure the trends would be similar in Canada. I guess the message is that crime has ALWAYS been part of our life and according to this article (Wikipedia) times have been worse in the past than they are now. Like climate change, I think one has to avoid thinking that the area you live in is necessarily indicative of what is happening country-wide or even world-wide.
