When I was young the family's GVI MM broke a rear axle several times.
The implement company would retrieve it for repairs using a tilt-bed implement truck with a heavy-duty winch.
They would jack up the wheel-less side enough to get a large "one-way" disc blade under the axle housing and set it down in the dished blade.
The disc blade had a heavy loop of rod welded to it that that they would attach a chain to, and rig a chain setup to pull on the disc blade and the front of the tractor evenly, and simply skid it up on the bed with the winch.
SCARY to watch, even at a young age, but it worked, and this was a 800-9000 pound tractor!
