Years ago a neighbor did something similar, she didn't use a correct double boiler and just put one pot over the other with water in the lower one. When the steam built up it blew the pot of vegies up to the ceiling scalding her face and neck and denting the ceiling. She ended up in the Emergency room. I remember my mother using a double boiler but never had a problem. I remember the rubber safety plug blowing out of the pressure cooker once, what a noise that made.
