Here is my constructive feedback:
The short steel fuel line and fitting should have been removed. There may have been trash hiding behind the fitting, there may have been a screen that needed cleaning.
When installing the throttle plate, the idle speed screw should be backed off so the plate goes fully closed. That is what centers the plate exactly in the center of the bore. Some throttle and choke plate screws are bradded from the factory. Unless you are sure they really need to come out, and have a new shaft and screws in hand, best leave them alone! A drop of blue Locktite is advisable on the screws.
The float should have been given the 'shake test', listening and feeling for fuel inside the pontoons. The float level was not checked.
Upon the final installation and start up, it would be good to cover the importance of servicing the fuel filter screen and sediment bowl, verifying the tank is clean, and flushing the line before making the final connection. Most carb fails are due to trash in the tank and line getting in the needle valve.
And a final segment on the proper adjustment of the idle and high speed jet would have been a nice close.
