Hi everyone. Don't laugh at this, but I just noticed today, that my 1939 JD H, has no PTO. Unless I missed it somehow?? I really was never concerned about this because all I wanted was a nicely restored JD, for pulling purposes, like a small hay wagon. It was never going to be a working tractor. I guess I assumed that all tractors came with a PTO. My former 1950 Farmall had one as does my present 1951 Ford 8N. I recall growing up in farm country and I saw several implements, like a hay baler, which was being pulled by a tractor and the baler had it's own motor; power source. So I guess it didn't need the tractor to have a PTO. Just wondering when JD's came with a PTO?? Maybe it had to do with the model?? Cheaper model like my H didn't get one?? Thanks, Nicholas C.
