If any aluminum parts melted on the engine or near the rear end I would forget that one, although it does not look like it got real hot. They must have had steel fuel tanks and fuel lines of the tank was nearly empty. Secondly, unless you know the engine was recently overhauled it could cavitate the cylinder walls a month after you got it all fixed up, in fact it could even do it if it had been overhauled. Those Ford sleeveless parent bore engines were known for that. Proper coolant and conditioner does hold it a bay fairly well. My guess is if you bought it for scrap price by the time you are all set and done you could have bought another comparable one ready to go in the field for the same money or less.
