If you look at the rims they are usually stamped with the size and manufacturer on them either on the tube side or the outside. Most will say titan or unverferth. there are some by firestone and a couple others. The price your local guy has is just more mark up or he just got them since everything went up with the new inflation. Otherwise it is volume making the price too.
