No real case person with real knowledge of case transmissions will tell you to use anything but hytran in a case powershift transmission. The difference in cost is not much compared to a transmission rebuild. Take the jd oil back and get real hytran. The case transmission will last as long and be more durable than most if the right oil is used, but the most common cause of failure is the wrong oil. Case hytran is also designed to mix with other oils so if you have other brand tractors the mixing of oils from changing equipment won't bother it. Now if it's a non-powershift model then cheaper oil is ok.
