You need to get a service manual and see what the maximum piston protrusion is.... or talk to knowledgeable Case guys about it. If its too high, two head gaskets will certainly work, although this is less than ideal.... a better way would be to remove a specific amount off the top of the piston , after the protrusion has been carefully measured. The puzzling thing to me is if the block was in fact decked, that would mean re-cutting the counterbores... certainly any party capable of this work would know that will raise the pistons accordingly... to just stop right there and slap on another gasket?
