Thank you both for the replies. The problem is that the hydraulic motor is not adequate enough by the time the tractor engine is sped up enough for max tractor hydraulics to keep up with the horizontal floor auger. I've tried running it on anything from a CIH 5230 to a CIH 7120 with tractor hydraulics turned wide open. My thoughts are to try and put a gearbox on the vertical auger driven via a chain from the horizontal auger shaft. Is a 1:1 shaft ratio for both augers adequate ? I'm planning to keep it on 540 pto.
