When I had the carb on the bench I pulled the main jet out. Filled the hole with carb cleaner and blew air though it. It came out where the solenoid needle would have been, so that passage seems clear.

I do have fresh fuel and it does flow out from the petcock at the bottom of the bowl.

Solenoid works by observation.
