Yeah, don't try and tell any of the old timers around here that an M is a poor replacement for a 460. The IH dealers tried marketing the 460 as a replacement for the M in this area. More than one farmer demanded their M back because their tired old M could work circles around the "gutless" 460's. Most refused to buy the 460 after a few times around the field on the demonstrator model.
Farmers around here really didn't upgrade until the 706 came out. Lot of M's and a lot of 706's around here.
